The 2019 season promises to be a big one for LWMCC at Hendley Park in Whitby, with a major rebuild of its motocross track currently in full swing. With Willie Thomson of Dirt High Promotions managing the project, and with a sensational new track design to suit riders of different skills and abilities, the excitement of things to come is certainly building.
The club is not resting on its laurels waiting for the motocross track build to finish though, as it is currently in the process of getting ready for the much anticipated beginning of the Arenacross season which commences in February.
LWMCC is taking the first steps toward the season kick off by offering a combined Registration and Come and Try day on January 19th, where anyone who is interested in finding out more about the club, the vision for the year and what it means to be a LWMCC member, is encouraged to come along. Whilst membership applications can easily be completed online, on Ridernet, the club committee will also be ready to assist any new or previous members with the application process at the registration day, between 7am and 10am. Coming along on the day is also a great way to meet the new committee, not to mention meeting other members, or members-to-be, of the Lightweight MCC community.
Between 7:30am and 11:30 am, the club is also running a come and try day on its Arenacross track, which has to be the ultimate way to get an idea of whether this is the club and the track for you! This is your chance to come along and try the track, having fun in a safe, non-competitive environment and it is FREE! There is no need to be a member for this, and for those without an MWA licence, one meet licences ($30) or come and try licences (free) will be available. For more information, please head to the Lightweight page on Facebook.
Lightweight caters to all level of riders, from juniors in their first year of competition, through to advanced level senior riders. It is a family friendly club, with a strong junior section and the club has two tracks, offering both arenacross and motocross, with a number of competitive and non-competitive events scheduled for the year. With a brand new motocross track in the making, this will be the year to join!
