At Motorcycling WA all the staff have been working hard along with MWA clubs to secure exciting new venues to enable a Dirt Track racing series in Western Australia for 2019.
We are now excited to announce, after a few years of anticipation, that it's finally time to get your slide on........
The first practice for the new Dirt Track series is being proudly supported by the Speedway Club of WA under lights at their new senior track at Pinjar Park on Wednesday the 31st of October.
This is a chance to get your dirt bikes out onto a Speedway Track and have a try in preparation for the 2019 Series or just for some good old fashioned fun!! Pre-registrations are a must, if you don't register before the 31st, you won't get to ride.
Dirt Track Tyres
With the bikes using the new, very flash, long Speedway track, correct rear tyres will be required for Wednesday's practice night on the 31st.
We're sorry for the inconvenience and if you need a hand getting the correct tyres please contact us at email@example.com as the Speedway club is generously trying to get some second hand tyres for riders to use.
On a positive note..... The sliding will be a whole lot more fun with the correct rear tyre!!!!
Information update regarding the minimum safety:
The minimum safety clothing is basically Motocross gear but with a back protector (or body armour) and leather gloves or similar (think gloves for road bikes).
We will be bringing along a few spare gloves and back protectors that we have and if anyone is coming along and has some extras that others could possibly borrow, that would be amazing.
There will be very basic scrutineering on the night at the time of registration but nothing hectic.
If you have any questions please let us know.
Plans are under way to run a few Dirt Track events this year with tracks already being licensed and an advisory committee being formed.
Tracks to host the 2019 series will include Speedway circuits, Dirt Kart tracks and Grass Tracks for some fast, fun racing.
What is already a popular discipline on the East Coast and US; dirt tracking is the proven training ground for some of our most successful international racers.
The series will aim to cater for serious racers looking for championship glory, to those looking to dust off their old dirt bikes and slide around multiple tracks across WA.
As always, these racing series cannot operate without dedicated volunteers, so if you would like to get involved or if you need more information or have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
